PLAY LIBRARY
SAVE PLAY adds the current play to this browser library. EXPORT PLAY JSON backs up the currently open play; IMPORT PLAY JSON opens a backed-up play. Save it again to add it to the saved-play dropdown. EXPORT ALL PLAYS backs up the complete saved-play library; IMPORT LIBRARY restores it without deleting existing plays. Back up each important play before switching devices or clearing browser data. Video export uses browser recording. MP4 is selected when supported; some browsers export WebM instead. Cloud sync is not included.

- Choose Scene 1 — Pre-Snap Alignment and position players.
- Use SET STARTING ALIGNMENT if you want to store those starting positions.
- Choose Scene 2 — Confronto Defensivo, select DRAW, and create routes or defender paths.
- Tap FINISH PATH after drawing; choose coverage assignments as needed.
- Use FULL PLAY PREVIEW to review, then use the yellow SAVE & NEW PLAY menu to save your work. Choose SAVE CURRENT PLAY to stay on the field or SAVE & NEW PLAY to start another diagram.
00 CURRENT WORKFLOW · UPDATED FEATURES
TOOLS navigation
Use TOOLS to open Play Setup, Formations, Player Studio, Teaching Lab, Export Studio, Scene Manager, Team Branding, or Help & Instructions. Menu and section names should match. The floating Back to Top arrow appears after scrolling down; tap it to return to the top of the page.
Build, save, and manage plays
Draw and preview on the main field. The yellow SAVE & NEW PLAY menu offers SAVE CURRENT PLAY (keep the existing diagram on the field) and SAVE & NEW PLAY (save, then start fresh). Open Play Setup → Play Library to find, load, rename, or delete saved plays. Check the automatically suggested play name and customize it before saving; do not assume that a changed formation should overwrite a custom name. Play Setup also provides access to Blitz Settings, offensive formation and strength, coverage/disguise, field settings, and the No Fly Zone overlay.
Formations and Player Studio
Formations manages saved alignments and provides Save Alignment, Delete Saved, Export Library, and Import Library. Player Studio is for player labels, appearance, routes, and movement-speed controls. Apply changes with APPLY TO PLAYER; use RESET PLAYER to restore a player's appearance. TEAM BRANDING opens the team identity settings.
Teaching Lab: import materials, then teach
Under TEACHING MATERIALS, use the buttons in this order: IMPORT VIDEO (green film button), IMPORT PHOTO (camera icon), and PLAY LIBRARY. Import Video opens the existing video import/embed workflow for displaying local footage, including picture-in-picture and side-by-side viewing when supported. Import Photo brings in teaching images. Play Library provides access to saved diagrams. These shortcuts do not mean a full multi-track teaching-video editor or automatic saved-play/video synchronization is finished. SAVE PAUSE JPEG and EXPORT ALL PAUSE JPEGS remain specific to teaching pauses.
Export Studio: all finished outputs and backups
Use EXPORT STUDIO to export video, save a JPEG diagram, use the existing Print / Save PDF capability, and access Play Library Exports & Backups. In the video controls, Export Video and Save JPEG Diagram are the top row; Snap to Finish and Stop are the second row. Library actions include Export All Plays, Export Complete Backup, Import Library / Backup, and Export Current Play JSON. A play-library JSON file is editable data for reimport; a PDF is a document for sharing. Do not assume the current PDF action automatically assembles a multi-play playbook. Export Complete Backup covers the categories actually supported by that command; imported video files and all device settings may not be included.
Portuguese and English teaching text
Enter Portuguese and English titles, subtitles, and coaching annotations manually. The app does not guarantee automatic translation. Review scene titles before recording or exporting.
Before working on another device
Saved plays may be stored locally in your browser. Export your library and a complete backup before clearing site data or switching devices. On mobile, test import, save, reload, playback, and export with a small sample first. Browser support for recording formats and file downloads varies.
01 GETTING STARTED
What this app does: It combines a 5v5 flag-football play diagram, player movement animation, defensive assignments, teaching pauses, video study, and exports.
Understand the workspace
- The field is your drawing and teaching surface. Tap or drag players and use the active tool to change what your touch does.
- The play controls above/below the field handle animation, drawing, editing, scene switching, and formations.
- The collapsible panels—Edit Plays, Play Library, Teaching Lab, Scene Manager, Export Videos & Photos, Team Branding—contain advanced controls.
- Scene 1 establishes the pre-snap picture. Scene 2 handles the post-snap action. Additional scenes can extend the teaching sequence.
Tip: Start with the simplest two-scene play before adding disguise steps, film, or teaching pauses.
02 FIELD CONTROLS & EDIT PLAYER
Main buttons
- MOVE: reposition a player on the field.
- DRAW: draw an offensive route or defender movement. Finish the path when done.
- ZONE: assign or draw a defender's zone/bubble.
- EDIT PATH: adjust existing route or movement waypoints.
- BLITZ: create a defender's blitz path.
- ERASE: remove the selected drawing/element using the erase tool.
- PLAY SCENE: animate the play. UNDO / REDO: step backward or forward through recent edits. FINISH PATH: complete the current multi-point drawing.
- FULL PLAY PREVIEW: review the full play sequence.
Coverage — Rules
Use the action selector to choose the assignment type, then tap the required defenders and receivers in the order shown by the selected action. The chosen tool/action determines whether a tap draws, selects, or assigns.
Edit Player dropdown
Use CLEAR SELECTION to deselect. With a player selected, the menu includes Erase selected route / movement, Erase selected zone bubble, Erase selected man / match assignments, Erase BRACKET / READ / TRIO, and Clear selected player edits. These remove the relevant edits rather than deleting the player from the field.
If a tap does the wrong thing, check the active tool and coverage action first.
03 SCENES & PRE-SNAP MOTION
Every scene is editable
Move offense or defense, draw motion/routes, and edit assignments in any scene. When positioning offensive players in PRE-SNAP or SNAP STARTER alignment, SELECT stops at the yellow line of scrimmage. Lateral and backfield positioning remain free; drawn routes can cross the line. New routes start at the current scene position. Scene Manager provides duplicate, reorder, scene duration, and SET SNAP STARTER.
SNAP STARTER
Designate the first snap-execution scene. All earlier scenes are PRE-SNAP; all later scenes are POST-SNAP. The designation follows its scene when reordered. Add as many pre-snap motion and defensive-adjustment scenes as needed. Snap-based blitzes wait for SNAP STARTER.
Motion first, routes together at the snap
Use PRE-SNAP MOTION for movement before the snap. Ordinary receiver routes drawn in a pre-snap scene now wait for SNAP STARTER, even after a receiver has moved. In Player Controls, RECEIVER PATH START selects AT SNAP — ROUTE or IN THIS SCENE — MOTION / CONTINUATION. Select an existing receiver and choose AT SNAP to correct an early-running route without redrawing it. Pending routes survive scene duplication and paused snapshots; routes start together at the snap from their current positions.
Names and snapshots
Automatic names follow the scene role. Renaming a scene makes the name manual. Duplicate copies the complete scene; DUPLICATE PAUSED FRAME captures every player at the actual paused moment and retains the remaining execution independently.
Playback
PLAY animates the selected scene. FULL PLAY PREVIEW runs every scene in order. Film Room scrubbing uses the same positions and timing as JPEG/video exports.
04 ROUTES, LINE PATTERNS & ROUTE BREAKS
Draw a route or movement path
- Switch to any scene you want to edit.
- Choose DRAW and select the player.
- Drag from the player to aim one straight segment, then release to set its endpoint. Tap or drag again to add the next waypoint. Finger wobble does not add bends. Use SHARP / SQUARE or rounded breaks to shape deliberate corners.
- Tap DONE. Use ADJUST to move existing waypoints if necessary.
- Tap PLAY SCENE to confirm the player follows the intended bends.
Offensive routes are shown in green with arrowheads; defender movement paths use a white/gray dashed style. The actual appearance can also depend on the chosen tool and assignment display settings.
Line Pattern
Use the LINE PATTERN dropdown to select STRAIGHT, DOTTED, or SQUIGGLY (AUTOMATIC). Dotted is a dotted visual line; squiggly is a display style, not a command to make the player zigzag.
Route Breaks
Use the ROUTE BREAKS selector (including SHARP / SQUARE) to change how route turns appear. Draw at least two segments when you need a visible route break. Rounded breaks use the same curve for drawing and actual movement. Add or delete individual waypoints in Player Controls.
Other nearby controls
RESTORE DEFAULT DEFENSE returns the default defensive alignment. PRE-SNAP MOTION adds a motion scene; neither is a route-pattern selector.
05 DEFENSIVE COVERAGE & ASSIGNMENTS
Choose the coverage/action, then select players in the sequence required by that action. Use Scene 2 for post-snap defensive responsibilities.
Man and Match
- Select the MAN or MATCH assignment action.
- Tap the defender, then the offensive receiver.
- Repeat for other defenders. Review with PLAY SCENE.
MAN is shown with a yellow assignment line and tracks the receiver. MATCH is shown with a white line; the defender can work from a zone before matching the receiver.
Zone
Choose ZONE, select a defender, and drag toward the intended zone. A white line terminates in a bubble. Zone visibility and opacity are configurable in Edit Plays.
Bracket
For the bracket action, select two defenders, then the receiver. The app's bracket teaching logic uses the nearer defender on the release and the other as the quarterback blitzer. Review the animation to confirm the correct personnel and path.
Read — High / Low
- Select the READ action.
- Tap the LOW defender, then the HIGH defender.
- Tap the slot receiver, then the outside receiver.
- Review the read response in playback. If the slot releases outward, LOW takes slot and HIGH takes outside; otherwise HIGH takes slot and LOW takes outside. Neither is a blitzer in this READ action.
The order of player selection matters for READ. If HIGH and LOW appear reversed, clear the READ assignment and reassign in the listed order.
TRIO — defender triangle
Select TRIO and tap three different defenders. Yellow dotted lines connect their current positions, with “TRIO” centered inside. No receiver is selected or automatically assigned. Draw any separation or movement yourself, then separately assign MATCH to the appropriate defenders and receivers. The annotation stays independent of those assignments and appears in annotated JPEG/video exports. Use Erase BRACKET / READ / TRIO on a selected member to remove the triangle.
Other teaching actions
The Teaching Lab also includes MEG, MATCH, DISGUISE, TRIO, TROCA, and AJUDA teaching moments. Their detailed assignment behavior depends on the selected coverage and play setup; verify the player relationships in the animation rather than assuming all actions use the same selection order.
Zone drop → paused frame → MATCH
ZONE retains its moving defender/drop behavior. Pause when the defender reaches the zone, then use DUPLICATE PAUSED FRAME. The completed zone line and bubble remain an annotation. In Player Controls, select MATCH ACTIVATION → AT THIS SCENE START — COACH HANDOFF, then assign MATCH to the defender and receiver. The short glow ends after about 1.25 simulation seconds; coverage tracking continues. The default MATCH option still waits for a push beyond seven yards.
06 BLITZ PATHS, DELAY & DISGUISE
Open EDIT PLAYS → ⚡ BLITZ SETTINGS to find Blitz Origin, Blitz Actions, Blitz Delay, Blitz Speed, Bracket Blitz Speed, and Second Bracket Blitz Pause Duration together.
Draw a blitz
- Open Scene 2, choose BLITZ, and select the defender who will rush.
- Draw the lateral or direct rush path, adding waypoints as needed.
- Tap FINISH PATH and use PLAY SCENE to check the rush.
Blitz paths are drawn in red. If the red arrow is set to fade at the snap, the player's rush still continues during playback.
Blitz settings in Edit Plays
BLITZ ORIGIN · UNDERNEATH ZONE controls the rusher's origin/alignment choice. SELECT BLITZ ACTIONS contains the available blitz calls: BRACKET, TRAP FIRE, FREEZE, TRAP SILENT, DELAY, RÁPIDA, and SEM BLITZ. The BLITZ DELAY selector provides None, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 seconds.
Disguise sequence
- In Edit Plays, choose the desired Disguise and Tagged Receiver.
- Tap + Add step to record that stage.
- Change the disguise or coverage and add another step for the next transition.
- Use Clear steps to remove the disguise sequence.
Blitz delay and BLITZ SPEED are separate controls: one changes when the rush begins; the other changes how quickly the drawn path is traveled.
FREEZE receiver tag, Buzz, and Sink
Select FREEZE in Blitz Actions, then choose FREEZE BLITZ — TAGGED RECEIVER. The receiver identifier appears on the field, in coaching notes, the automatic play name, and exports. Tagging alone does not invent a receiver delay or movement: use your drawn paths, scenes, and blitz-delay settings. Buzz and Sink are available in the existing Disguise selector in Play Setup. BUZZ, BAIL, CARRY, FECHAR, FREEZE, SOME, SINK, RODAR, NUVEM, and SHOWTIME identify coaching techniques only. Selecting them never moves defenders, selects a destination, or starts a blitz. Duplicate a scene, draw or position the defender at the desired destination, then duplicate again and separately assign MATCH to the explicit receiver. Ordinary duplication carries final positions forward and retains completed arrows as annotations. BASE is aggressive MATCH-first; Cover 2 Strong/Weak, Diamante, U, and Chuva are zone-first → MATCH. Those descriptions never override the manually constructed scenes.
07 FORMATIONS & ALIGNMENTS
- Open the full-width FORMATIONS & ALIGNMENTS dropdown below the drawing controls.
- Choose the desired preset or adjust players manually on the field.
- Use SET STARTING ALIGNMENT to establish the current player locations as the pre-snap starting positions.
- Use RESET POSITIONS when you want to reset the field positions.
Save your own alignment
Use SAVE ALIGNMENT to store a custom formation; DELETE SAVED removes a saved alignment. EXPORT LIBRARY and IMPORT LIBRARY back up or restore your alignment presets.
Formation choices in Edit Plays
Offensive Formation and Strength (Strong Left / Strong Right) set the offensive structure. Choose coverage and disguise separately. RESTORE DEFAULT DEFENSE restores the default defense rather than loading a saved custom preset.
08 EDIT PLAYS — FIELD & ASSIGNMENT SETTINGS
EDIT PLAYS contains the play's tactical and display settings, not just drawing tools.
All blitz controls are grouped inside the expandable ⚡ BLITZ SETTINGS section, including the bracket-specific pause duration and both rush speed controls.
- Offensive Formation / Strength: choose the offensive structure and strong side.
- Coverage / Disguise: choose the defensive presentation and pre-snap look.
- Blitz Origin / Select Blitz Actions / Blitz Delay: set the rush setup and call.
- Tagged Receiver: select the offensive player referenced by the selected teaching/disguise action.
- Disguise / coverage sequence: add or clear sequential teaching steps.
- Field View: switch between the full 70-yard field and a zoomed coaching window.
- Ball Spot: choose the yard-line location in 5-yard increments.
- NO FLY ZONE overlay: show/hide zones and adjust opacity from 0% (invisible) to 100% (fully visible). This includes the RAIL areas; near the opponent's goal line the zones compress to fit the remaining field.
- Assignment Display: show pre-snap only (fade at snap), follow players throughout, or hide.
- Red Blitz Arrow During Playback: fade at snap, keep visible, or hide.
- Player Marker Size: Normal, Large, or Extra Large to make players easier to select and move.
- Route Line Thickness: Small, Normal (original thickness), or Large. Adjusts the drawn offensive and defensive route/movement line width without changing paths or timing.
09 PLAYBACK, SCRUBBING & 🎬 COACHES FILM ROOM
Review the animation
- Tap PLAY SCENE to animate the current play.
- Use the timeline/scrubber where available to move backward or forward to a specific moment.
- Use the play/pause and restart controls in the preview or Film Room to repeat a teaching point.
- Choose FULL PLAY PREVIEW for a full-sequence review.
🎬 Coaches Film Room
Open 🎬 COACHES FILM ROOM for a cleaner, larger field view while teaching or screen sharing. The Film Room is separate from the full editing interface and is intended to keep playback and scrubbing controls available. Choose EXIT FILM ROOM to return to editing.
On iPad or Safari, fullscreen behavior and recording formats depend on browser support. If a browser blocks fullscreen, use the expanded in-page view and the visible timeline controls.
10 TEACHING LAB — PAUSES & COACHING MOMENTS
Choose a teaching playback mode
- Automatic · hold key moments: playback pauses at teaching points for the chosen duration.
- Manual · Next to advance: pause at teaching points until you press NEXT ▶.
- Continuous · no pauses: play without teaching holds.
Hold each moment offers 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, or 10 seconds. The separate SECOND BRACKET BLITZ pause duration is now in Edit Plays → BLITZ SETTINGS.
Teaching labels
The teaching row includes BRACKET, READ, MEG, MATCH, DISGUISE, TRIO, TROCA, and AJUDA. These provide teaching moments tied to the selected coverage or disguise sequence.
Save teaching images
Save Pause JPEG saves the current teaching frame. Export All Pause JPEGs exports the teaching pause images. For video export, the app uses timed holds rather than waiting indefinitely for a manual NEXT press.
For an uninterrupted demonstration, choose Continuous. For a live class, Manual mode lets you control when the next explanation appears.
11 IMPORT / EMBED VIDEO — FILM STUDY
Open TEACHING LAB and use the green IMPORT VIDEO button under TEACHING MATERIALS. It opens the existing local video import/embed workflow. Use the supported picture-in-picture or side-by-side view and the existing synchronization/view controls. Imported video is not automatically included in a play-library JSON export. This is a film viewing/teaching workflow, not yet a full timeline video editor.
12 SCENE MANAGER — TIMING, SPEED & NOTES
Manage the scene sequence
+ Scene adds a scene; Duplicate copies one; Delete removes the selected scene. Tap a scene in the Scenes row to make it active before editing scene-specific settings.
Annotate the scene
FIELD SCENE ANNOTATION includes a Portuguese main label and English subtitle. These appear on the field and are included in JPEG and video exports. Scene title names the scene; COACHING NOTES · THIS SCENE stores explanations with that scene.
Adjust animation timing
- Scene duration (sec): how long the scene lasts.
- Defender drop / pursuit speed: movement speed for Man, Match, and coverage pursuit.
- Defender Match Speed: how quickly defenders close on receivers after the initial drop.
- All Receivers Speed: adjusts X, C, SL, and Z together without changing their drawn routes.
- Playback Speed: 0.5×, 1×, or 1.5× playback.
Change one speed setting at a time, replay, and compare. A delay changes the start time; a speed setting changes the travel rate.
13 PLAY LIBRARY — SAVE, LOAD & BACK UP
Save from the yellow SAVE & NEW PLAY control on the main workspace. SAVE CURRENT PLAY keeps your diagram in place; SAVE & NEW PLAY starts a fresh diagram. Use Play Setup → Play Library to manage saved plays. For exporting or importing an entire collection, open Export Studio → Play Library Exports & Backups. Export All Plays exports saved play data; Export Complete Backup includes alignments, coverage names, branding/player settings, and supported preferences. Restore keeps duplicate plays/formations under suffixed names and asks before replacing conflicting settings. Keep a separate backup before changing devices. Verify imports before relying on them.
14 EXPORT STUDIO
Export Studio is the central location for video, JPEG, PDF, and library/backup actions. The video export row contains Export Video and Save JPEG Diagram; below them are Snap to Finish and Stop. The PDF command saves the supported current view; a multi-play PDF playbook creator is not yet confirmed. Play Library Exports & Backups provides Export All Plays, Export Complete Backup, Import Library / Backup, and Export Current Play JSON. JSON is for editable reimport, not a printable playbook. Teaching Lab provides CLEAN VIDEO, ANNOTATIONS ONLY, COACHING NOTES ONLY, and NOTES + ANNOTATIONS. Scene notes and timed annotations are painted inside the exported frames. Native MP4 is used when supported; otherwise the file is honestly labeled WebM. Test export formats on the target mobile browser.
15 TEAM BRANDING
- Open TEAM BRANDING.
- Enter TEAM NAME, END-ZONE TEXT, and TEAM TAGLINE.
- Upload a TEAM LOGO in PNG, JPEG, or WEBP format if desired.
- Choose PRIMARY ACCENT, SECONDARY ACCENT, BACKGROUND, and PANEL COLOR.
- Tap SAVE TEAM PROFILE.
NEW PROFILE creates another team identity. RESTORE BRASIL THEME restores the original Brasil theme. DELETE PROFILE removes the selected team profile.
Team theme colors change the interface/branding; the coverage assignment colors remain unchanged so their meaning stays consistent.
16 TROUBLESHOOTING & QUICK REFERENCE
The wrong player moves or receives an assignment
Check whether SELECT, DRAW, BLITZ, ZONE, ADJUST, or ERASE is active. Clear the selection if needed, choose the correct action, and select players in the required order.
A route doesn't follow the intended corner or break
Make sure you placed the route's bend/waypoints and pressed FINISH PATH. Use ADJUST to reposition points. LINE PATTERN affects visual appearance, not the player's route geometry.
A READ defender is marked HIGH/LOW incorrectly
Clear the selected READ/bracket assignment, then assign LOW defender, HIGH defender, slot receiver, outside receiver in that order.
A blitz arrow disappears but the player still rushes
Check Red Blitz Arrow During Playback in Edit Plays. A fading annotation does not cancel the actual blitz movement.
Teaching pauses interrupt the animation
In Teaching Lab, switch to Continuous · no pauses, or use Manual and NEXT ▶ when you want to advance.
A video won't import or fullscreen won't open
Try a browser-supported MP4 and verify browser permissions/support. Film Room's fullscreen behavior can differ between Safari and desktop browsers.
A saved play is missing on another device
The Play Library does not sync between devices. Export the play as JSON from the original browser, import it on the new device, then save it there.
Fast navigation
Build: Scenes → MOVE/DRAW/BLITZ → Finish Path → Coverage. Teach: Teaching Lab → Playback mode → Teaching pauses → Film. Share: Play Library → Save → Export JPEG or Video.
17 QUICK TOOLS & PLAYER CONTROLS
Quick-access toolbox
The TOOLS button beside the field lock and Coaches Film Room opens shortcuts to commonly used sections. It does not replace the full editors.
- Choose a player from the EDIT PLAYER selector or select a player while the field is unlocked.
- Open TOOLS → CUSTOMIZE SELECTED PLAYER. The customization section opens with that player selected.
- Change the display label (up to three characters), marker shape (circle, triangle, or star), solid/outline fill, marker color, and opacity.
- Tap APPLY TO PLAYER. The appearance updates on the field and is saved locally on this device.
- Use RESET PLAYER to restore that player's standard appearance. Use TEAM BRANDING for the existing team color and logo controls.
Important: Changing a display label does not rename the player's internal ID or change their assignment. The lock protects the drawing surface; opening the toolbox does not unlock it. Player appearance and supported settings are included in portable play JSON and complete backups. Importing a play preserves its scene and customization metadata.
Plays and animation scenes
A play is the complete defensive design. Animation scenes are the stages within that play, such as pre-snap alignment, motion, and post-snap reactions. Use SCENE MANAGER to manage those stages; the toolbox provides a shortcut.
